The Story Behind Typewise
Most text expansion tools on the market today require you to send every keystroke or shortcut to their servers to sync, analyze, or run scripts. For developers, customer support professionals, and writers who deal with sensitive client information, API keys, or private code snippets, this is a major security risk.
We created Typewise to break this paradigm. From day one, Typewise was engineered to run entirely locally inside your browser sandbox. The core app doesn't require a network connection to expand your shortcuts.
When you choose to enable cloud sync (via our optional Pro plan), we use secure, end-to-end Firebase synchronization that keeps your templates safe and accessible across all your devices, without ever intercepting your actual typing.
